Writers Wanted
Guidelines
We are currently looking for writers for assignments although we are open to ideas for content for our quarterly magazine. The word count is 1000 words (we prefer slightly less than more). We require tightly-written non-fiction articles on bird watching, wildlife (worldwide) conservation, environmental issues etc.
Please write in the third person and ensure complete accuracy. Unless you are a professional in your niche area, we do not want scientific articles. Articles must be compelling and informative. We envisage you will be writing for a wide array of ages and expertise so keep this in mind. Check and double-check your facts prior to submitting and ensure there are no grammatical or spelling errors.
Send Ideas
In the first instance, we require article ideas only. We need to know your experience in this niche and the aim of the article. While published nature writers are welcome, we are open to new writers. Please do not send completed articles at this stage. If you are asked to write the article on spec, please note that this is not an offer of acceptance and publication. We have to ensure articles meet our needs but are happy to work with writers and to advise any edits. Articles must meet our editorial standards. Payment is made within one month of acceptance by PayPal.
If you are commissioned to write for us, please use an MS Word document and write in Ariel font 10 and 1.5 line spacing. Send your document as an attachment to admin@ecohive.club Write article idea in the subject line or if you have been asked to write the article, please add article on spec in the subject line.
We are a start-up organisation so our pay reflects this currently. We would like to build up a stable of regular writers and are happy to provide writing opportunities for those who deliver quality content to deadline. We provide a byline for writers and have every intention of increasing the rate of payment as soon as our membership grows and we increase our fund-raising activities. Per 1000 word article – pay is £20
To gain a greater idea of the content required, please take a look at our membership page.
